Virtue Voucher

Patience

A Morning of Virtue Expansion

Today was busy already. We ran three different errands. Since I’m not working full-time, we went to the Salvation Army to get gas money. It’s for the trips to and from Rogers. They were able to help with $50 worth of money which was nice of them to help with.

After that, we drove to the community clothes closet. It’s a place sort of like Goodwill, where people donate their old or unwanted clothing items. The difference is that the customers don’t have to pay for the clothing. It’s given for free, which I’m in dire need of new clothes.

I was able to get 5 shirts. One of them is a woman’s shirt, I thought it looked really nice but it was mixed in with the men’s shirts. So, I may just end up donating that back in the hopes that it makes it over to the correct department.

I was also able to get a leather jacket. I don’t think it’s real leather. It’s a nice jacket but it has a lot of scuffs and such, so I won’t wear it anywhere really nice. But, it’ll be warm for walking to the grocery store and such.

They also gave me a sheet set for a queen-sized bed. It’s a black set, so it isn’t going to match my comforter but I need a new set. It’s brand new too, in the package and you can tell it hasn’t been opened. I will still wash it when I open it, but for now it’ll be nice to have when I’m able to sleep in my bed again.

What really got under my skin was how this guy thought it was appropriate to sing gospel music while looking at the garments, signing up and checking out. I said to one lady, “If we all walked through here singing at the top of our lungs, this place would be complete chaos.” She didn’t respond.

When I finished at the clothes closet, it was time to go to the pantry to pick up some food. It helps supplement our food supply. I’ve learned over the years that if you’re in need a resources to utilize all the resources available. The only way it should reflect on a person is how resourceful they are.

Everything ended up working out, even if it was an exercise in patience.
