Your life without a computer: what does it look like?

Well, there are a couple of ways one could approach this daily prompt. Answering this prompt would be different if you were to propose that I lived my whole life without a computer, or if computers suddenly disappeared. It would be devastating to know about computers and have them disappear. Not only emotionally devastating but also society would collapse and that would make things difficult. lol

My daily life without a computer would look a lot different than what it is now. Everything I do is on computers. I work on my laptop. I talk on my cell phone. I play games on my PS5. These are all things that require computers. If it weren’t for computers, I would probably have read more books in my life. I probably would have made some different choices… probably? Certainly. I certainly would have made some different choices in life.

Computers have been a big influence on me. Whether for good or for bad. Computers are a big part of who I am. I think a lot of people could say that. Computers have become a big part of our lives. I read one blog post in which they said their life would be more simple. It would be less complicated in a lot of ways, but remember what it was like research something prior to computers? Having to go to the library, and look up the reference material using the Dewey Decimal system. Then go through the glossary or index to find the topic that you’re looking for, page through until you find the right page and then skim through the unnecessary information… Man, it really makes one appreciate Google.

There is a lot that I want to say but I don’t know what I want to put down. There is a lot of stuff on my mind right now, and I have a feeling it would be cathartic to get it out. But, for some reason, I feel like writing is challenging today. Perhaps I will have more to write about later.

Speaking of work, I should be working right now. Instead, I’m asking my friends what type of animal they believe I would be. My twin sister said “gopher” without hesitation. My friends all agreed. Well, one friend said that I am like a jellyfish. That all my arms (I think they’re tendrils) are my skills. Jellyfish is really pretty and that’s kind sentiment. Gopher is cuter though, and easier to anthropomorphize.
