The Ultimate Gift

No, seriously, though. I think that should be it for everybody. But I think this prompt is asking us to think of ourselves more specifically. My first instinct is to say “lifelong financial security” or something along those lines. That would certainly be the greatest gift for most people.

I’ve been thinking about how to answer this all day. I was going to say something about emotional regulation or conflict resolution, but I think the greatest gift somebody could give me would be to acquire and improve skills more efficiently. Since we can go any way with this, let’s say with super efficiency.

If somebody could give me this, I think it would drastically improve my quality of life (with the help of some motivation lol). But this would essentially give me the tools to handle nearly anything that comes my way.

It’s kind of like in the movie Everything Everywhere All At Once, wherein the main character Evelyn Wang has to perform an unexpected or improbable action. This causes them to jump to a new universe, wherein they learn the expertise of the self within that universe. Then, they can bring this into other universes. It’s really interesting and exciting to see all the fantastic things that she learns throughout the movie. If you haven’t seen it already, you definitely should.

I guess my ultimate goal is to make the gift that I’m given the most useful and productive gift. I think that is my way of showing appreciation for such a gift. A simple “Thank you” for the greatest gift someone gives me? I think not.

Writing this has been like pulling teeth today, so I think I might keep it short. In between working, I’ve been redesigning my primary domain, justinstanelle.com. It’s a much cleaner look, but I’m also able to incorporate my printify shop into it my website directly. This will provide a more professional look and feel for my visitors.

Oops, I got distracted again. I’m going to go now.
