After a refreshing nap, frustration lifted, and I tackled my obligations. Discussing persistent outbursts with the prescriber, I set up PCP and therapy appointments post-RogersBH. Exploring a website tool for business prospects, though pricey, tempts me. Meanwhile, a dynamic blog post tool empowers me to schedule a month's worth, enhancing website traffic and SEO.

Yesterday ended on a very heavy topic. Shame. We watched this very brief video and then began discussing the difference between shame and guilt. Then we went into the book… The part that resonated with me was about secret shame. Here’s a photo of the section in the book. Read the whole paragraph. I had to read it 5+ times before it really sank in. I think all of this relates to me, but I’m not sure. I want to process it. There’s a lot to unpack though, as is usual with therapy. But, I think it’s why I blocked…

Today's focus was on emotion regulation and its pivotal role, especially for individuals managing BPD. We explored the nuances of emotional intelligence, internal and external triggers, and delved into the ABC PLEASE model. A striking revelation was the simultaneous experience of contrasting emotions and the importance of acknowledging the complexity inherent in our emotional landscape.

One of the areas that I’m working on with my therapist is emotional regulation. Emotional regulation refers to the ability to manage and control one’s emotions healthily and constructively. It involves the capacity to understand, express, and modulate one’s feelings, so they are appropriate to the situation and do not lead to impulsive or disruptive behaviors. Effective emotional regulation is crucial for maintaining stable relationships, making sound decisions, and coping with life’s challenges. Emotional regulation can be challenged by various factors, including biological predispositions. Some individuals may have a genetic or neurological predisposition that makes it more difficult for them…

So, on Friday we learned about something called the Transtheoretical Model for Changing Habits. The Transthereotical Model (TTM), also known as the stages of change model, is a theory of behavior change that describes how people progress through six stages as they change their behavior: The TTM is not a linear model. People may move back and forth between stages as they progress through the change process. For example, someone who is trying to quit smoking may start in the precontemplation stage, then move to the contemplation stage, then back to the precontemplation stage, and so on. Eventually, they may…

I've been working closely with my therapist to tackle my Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) symptoms, focusing primarily on emotional deregulation, a distorted sense of reality, and an ever-changing sense of self. My therapy plan is getting a week-long extension, allowing for more individual time with my therapist. More reality checks are a key part of my recovery.

The author recounts a traumatic past relationship marked by co-dependence, manipulation, jealousy, emotional abuse and infidelity. A therapy session highlighting values, relationship red flags, and dealing with trauma brought forth overwhelming memories of these experiences. The author's ex-partner's lack of consideration and unkind accusations, stemming from his potential antisocial personality disorder, amplified the author's own struggle with borderline personality disorder, adding emotional intensity, conflict, and trauma to the relationship.

I can’t sleep at night. I can’t sleep in the morning. I can’t sleep during the day. My great-aunt has shit to do. Responsibilities to meet. I get it. I’m in the fucking way. She’s trying her best not to make me feel that way, but it’s just the reality. I went to bed at 11 last night. I’m syncing my Fitbit. It says I got 7.5 hours of sleep with a sleep score of 80. Then why do I feel like shit?! Every fucking morning, I wake up with my head splitting and my eyes swollen and in a…

For the most part, I really enjoy the treatment program that I’m in. I feel that CBT & DBT really resonate with me. Not only does it make logical sense, but it’s very relaxed and forgiving. I really think that had it been strict and regimented, I would be in opposition to it the whole time. Everything that I’ve learned through treatment has proven useful in a lot of ways. Not only with addiction recovery, but depression, anxiety, mood stabilization, dealing with stressors, and more. Today, however… Today has been difficult. I left the house feeling annoyed today. I don’t…
