The last thing that I searched for? Well, I suppose that depends. The last thing that I searched for in Google was “beginning of valhalla how to get to alrekstad” and the reason I was searching for that was because I was playing Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. I was searching for that because I had started the game a while ago and was trying to figure out the next steps to take from where I saved. I eventually figured it out. I needed to know whether to go on foot or by boat. The game is about a Viking assassin. Vikings sail a lot, right? Well, I figured I would be sailing to Alrekstad. I was wrong, I ended up taking a horse there. The search query provided no insight on this, merely wandering around the map helped me figure it out.
The last thing that I truly searched for was not on Google but on Perplexity.ai. Perplexity is a chatbot, but instead of responding with conversational responses, it provides search results with cited sources. What I searched for was “I used to play Final Fantasy XIV Online on PC. My PC is broke. I have a PS5 though. Can I play my PC account on PS5?”
The reason I searched for this using this method is because Perplexity will skim the search results and provide a conversational response based on cited sources. This saves me from taking the time to page through the search results myself. As you can see in the image below, the results gave me the answer and the how-to in a nice convenient to read manner:

I find myself incorporating AI into my searches more and more because it’s able to take context into consideration. If you’re unsure what I mean, take the screenshot above into consideration. In this situation, knowing about my broken PC probably isn’t necessary. However, telling the AI that I used a PC and am now using a PS5 is helpful.
Do you still use Google or have you tried conducting your searches through AI? If so, how has that worked out for you? Share your experiences in the comments.
